What is Intilaaqah programme?

Intilaaqah is one of Shell Social Investment initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman that has been modeled on Shell funded initiative called “Shell LiveWIRE” running in 26 countries worldwide. Intilaaqah aims to stimulate and encourage Omani youth to consider the option of setting up their own businesses, and to provide assistance to those who aspire to seek this opportunity, by providing them with training and counseling.

What are Intilaaqah Objectives?

  • Creating awareness specifically amongst youth about entrepreneurship
  • Providing information on how to start and manage a business
  • Encourage Omani youth to start their own enterprise by providing – free pf charge – training and counseling services
  • Recognize successful entrepreneurs and promote the concept of entrepreneurship to others
  • Contribute to the national strategy to diversify the economy
  • Help alleviate the growing job seeking rate amongst young Omanis
  • Demonstrate Shell commitment to the sustainable development of the Sultanate of Oman

What does Intilaaqah provide?

Intilaaqah provides training courses and workshops as well as business development and counseling services for Omani entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs

Who can benefit from Intilaaqah services?

Omani Nationals (male or female)
Should be at least 18 years or older
Should have earned a Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent degree
Unemployed in any public or private sector organization specifically for those who want to join the Business Planning & Ownership three-months course

The candidate should be keen on starting or enhancing his/her business
 
Does Intilaaqah provide funding?

Intilaaqah does not finance or fund projects. However, it provides assistance and liaison to access funds from other Intilaaqah partners. Moreover, entrepreneurs who seek funding for their projects can approach GroFin Oman, Manager of the Intilaaqah Enterprise Fund (IEF)

What is Intilaaqah Enterprise Fund (IEF)?

IEF is one of Shell Social Investment initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman. It is a US$10 million revolving fund (approximately OMR 3.8 million) dedicated to finance Small & Medium Enterprises (SME’s) in the Sultanate of Oman

Does Intilaaqah provide scholarship donations?

Intilaaqah dose not sponsor higher studies or grant scholarship opportunities

How many offices dose Intilaaqah have in the Sultanate of Oman and outside?

Intilaaqah has only one office located in the Governance of Muscat. However, it is part of larger global network in 25 countries including: England, Scotland, Ireland, North Ireland, Wales, Hungary, Hong Kong, South Africa, The Netherlands, Seri Lanka, Mauritius, Singapore, Argentine, Brunei, Brazil, Romania, Guam, Abu Dhabi, Pakistan, Iran, Nigeria, Egypt, Uruguay, Qatar, Libya and Syria

How can someone benefit from the Counseling service?
