Intilaaqah Awards … Be recognized … and inspire others
Omani innovative entrepreneurs are being called to compete for the annual Shell Intilaaqah Best Young Entrepreneur Award. The awards competition was launched yesterday at Knowledge Oasis Muscat. Intilaaqah aims to recognize successful entrepreneurs and to encourage others to follow in their footsteps.
Dr. Andrew Wood, Shell Country Chair and General Manager, Shell Development Oman commented at the press launch saying “We hold this event annually to create wider awareness about the concept of entrepreneurship. Every year we receive hundreds of applications from different parts of Oman. We expect the turn out to be even more this year given the increased interest in entrepreneurship and the support we are receiving from our partners, associates and media sponsors.”
A signing ceremony took place during the press conference between Intilaaqah and its partners. Key officials from Sanad Program, Knowledge Oasis Muscat, Oman Air, Sultan Qaboos University, Bank Muscat, National Bank of Oman and Oman International Bank were present at the event.
The award is presented in association with DHL, Oman Economic Review, Aalam Aliktisaad Wala'mal, Sharakah and Oman Mobile.
The award attracts Omani nationals who have successfully managed their own businesses for more than 18 months. The winners have a chance to win prizes in excess of OMR 20,000. Entrepreneurs can find the application forms in all Shell Select stores. Further, a special category for best business idea is designed exclusively for SQU students.
