Bright Ideas Workshops for Students of Colleges of Applied Science

An agreement was signed yesterday between the Ministry of Higher Education and Shell Development Oman represented by the Intilaaqah program. The agreement was signed by HE Dr. Rawya Al Busaidy, Minister of Higher Education and Mr. John Blascos, Shell Country Chairmen.
The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Higher Education and attended by officials from both organizations. The agreement entails providing a series of1 Day training workshop titled Bright Ideas for a total of 300 students of the Colleges of Applied Science in Sohar, Ibri, Salalah, Ar Rustaq, Sur and Nizwa.
In a press statement John Blascos said “This agreement strengthens the existing relationship between The Ministry of Higher Education and Shell development Oman. Promoting entrepreneurship amongst students is a key objective of the Intilaaqah program.”
For 15 years since its inception, Intilaaqah has trained more than 7,000 people. Apart from training, it offers business development services, conducts awareness sessions and organizes an annual event to recognize successful entrepreneurs. A number of public and private sector organizations support the program including Sohar Aluminum, Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sultan Qaboos University, Sanad Program, Knowledge Oasis Muscat, Bank Muscat, Oman Air and Oman International Bank.
